Refund Status In India, the Income Tax Department allows individuals and businesses to check the status of their income tax refund online through the Income Tax Department’s e-filing portal.
- Here’s how you can check the status of your income tax refund:
- Go to the Income Tax Department’s e-filing portal: https://www.incometax.gov.in/
- Click on the ‘Login Here’ button and enter your login credentials (PAN and password) to access your account.
- Once you are logged in, click on the ‘My Account’ tab and then select the ‘Refund/Demand Status’ option.
- On the ‘Refund/Demand Status’ page, you can view the status of your refund by entering your assessment year and the type of tax (e.g., income tax, TDS, etc.).
- Click on the ‘Submit’ button to view your refund status.
You can also check the status of your refund by calling the Income Tax Department’s toll-free number 1800-180-1961 or by sending an SMS to the number ‘TAXREFUND’ to 567678 or 56161.
